50 tips for bloggers
There are many tips on the internet for bloggers, but if you don't have time to read all those 100,000 articles, this is a handy list for you. These tips are based on years of blog experience.

First of all: Do not make it too difficult for yourself, do not wait until it is perfect, write, edit, and publish!

Structure and composition

1 . Do not use 2 sentences if 1 is sufficient.
2 . Make your most important point clear in the first paragraph.
3 . Do not start writing if you do not yet have your most important point.
4 . An informal style usually works best.
5 . Imagine writing an e-mail to someone you know and who belongs to your target audience.
6 . Use hyphens to indicate the main points in your article.
7 . Attract reactions by not telling the whole story and asking 1 or 2 questions at the end.
8 . A blog article can be informative, an opinion or vision, detailed or a summary overview, but not all at the same time.
9. Informative blog articles should quote or mention sources of the most important data.
10 . An article with an opinion or vision must be well substantiated and motivated.

Search machine optimaisation

You do not become friends with Google until you have built credibility and authority. Steadily continuing to write and publish helps. But take the following tips from the first day to heart:

1 . Choose a good title, the words in the title are very important for search engines. The title must contain the most important keywords and briefly describe the article.
2 . Use a good SEO plug in (for WordPress this is WordPress Seo by Yoast ) and always enter the focus keyword, the SEO title and the Meta description. The meta description does not help so much to be found, but it does help with clicks in search results.
3 . Always give images a relevant name, description and alternative text.
4 . Google wants to serve its users with good, relevant, readable, sharable and useful content. Keep that in mind.

The technical part of your blog can be frustrating and time consuming. If you are not good at it, outsource it. Sometimes you just have to do what you are good at and leave the rest to someone else.

1 . Use WordPress unless you have a very good reason to use a different CMS.
2 . Install the important plugins such as Social Sharing Toolkit, Yoast SEO and YARPP (Related Posts Plugin).
3 . Do not force visitors to log in first to leave a comment.
4 . Make sure the title of your article is visible in the URL.
5 . Link your social media channels to your blog.

1 . A sidebar on the right is the best blog layout.
2 . RSS and newsletter links must be at the top of that sidebar.
3 . Search, categories, archive and recent articles are important parts of the sidebar.
4 . Do not put any distracting parts in the sidebar.
5 . The blog header must state what the blog is about.
6 . Place images at the top of the article in the middle or right
7 . Use an easily readable font (not Comic Sans MS)
8 . Black text on a white background works best
9 . Avoid advertisements and pop-up screens, unless you have a really good reason for it
10 . Place a photo of yourself in the sidebar so that visitors know who they are dealing with.

Inspiration for your blog articles often comes from inside and out. Read a lot, watch what other bloggers do, pay attention to what's going on and steal ideas (Picasso, David Bowie and Steve Jobs did that too).

Just keep it up and you automatically become creative.

1 . Remember: how can I give a new twist to an important idea?
2 . A good story can be a good blog article.
3 . If you steal an idea, or 'borrow' content, state the source and the writer, including a link.
4 . Brainstorm regularly with yourself and write down all ideas. If you have no inspiration, check your list of ideas.
5 . Customer service FAQs are a great source of topics.
6 . Don't fool the reader with a title that does not match the content.
7 . Find your own voice, your own typical way. But give yourself here for the time.
8 . Don't worry about length, say what you have to say.

Marketing, social media and involvement

1 . Creating involvement takes more time than writing.
2 . Also share content from other bloggers on social media.
3 . Don't promote yourself too much on social media.
4 . Promote your blog in your e-mail signature, on business cards, your website and further in all communications everywhere.
5 . Ask other bloggers to write a guest blog, or write a guest blog for another blog yourself. Great way to get things going.
6 . Always answer as many responses as possible. This way your readers know that you are involved and appreciate responses.
7 . Leave nice comments on other blogs in your niche and thus draw attention to your blog.

Some last tips that didn't fit into any of the above categories:

1 . Do not place too much value on marketing calendars and publishing agendas. Publish if you have something to say.
2 . However, some regularity is important.
3 . Bloggers are quite helpful. Ask for help.
4 . Bloggers are quite helpful. Give help.
5 . You can break all the above rules, because there are actually no rules in blog country 🙂
